Lakeville City Council and School Board Both Meeting This Week

Important issues facing both entities in the upcoming week.

The Lakeville City Council and Lakeville Area Public School District's School Board  both have meetings scheduled for this week with important issues on their agendas.

City Council

The Lakeville City Council will meet to discuss a number of issues at 6:10 p.m. on Monday, June 27 in the Marion Conference Room at .

On tap for the work session is the whether or not the . The council had previously set a rough July 1 deadline for a decision on the fate of the building before putting it on the open market.

The council will also move forward with the candidate selection process for the newly created . The committee will serve to assist the council and staff with public education recommendations regarding city finances.

School Board

The Lakeville School Board will meet at 7:00 p.m. in the district offices for their regularly scheduled school board meeting on Tuesday, June 28.

The board is expected to officially appoint to replace . Knudson will serve in that capacity until a permanent replacement is hired.

Financial services director Mark Klett will also deliver a report on the potential impacts of a state shutdown should that occur later in the week.
