He's In! Dave Thompson Announces Campaign for Governor
State senator from Lakeville says DFL-run state government treats taxpayers like an ATM.
State Sen. Dave Thompson (R-Lakeville) announced his candidacy for governor of Minnesota Wednesday.
As reported by the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
During a Capitol press conference, Thompson -- a lawyer, former radio talk show host and two-term lawmaker from Lakeville -- laid out a standard Republican vision for his candidacy, calling for lower taxes, less government regulation and more educational opportunities. ...
"I believe in the individual," he said. "I believe within every person resides the seeds of greatness, and I think as governor my goal will be to get out of your way.
