Election Runs Late Into the Night (Photos)

With a few races nearly deadlocked, many stay awake late into the night for results

Three election races were nearly deadlocked heading into the late hours of the night.

Michele Bachmann (GOP) did not give a speech at the GOP headquarters, as the race was too close to call. The race was later given to her as she appears to have won by a 1 percent margin.

In the race for State Representative District 56B, Will Morgan (DFL) holds a slim lead over Roz Peterson (GOP) by 170 votes.

And in the Constitutional Amendment to define marriage, the amendment was defeated and officially called at 2 a.m. The Vote Yes campaign has yet to concede defeat.

"It's not over," Director of Communications for Minnesota for Marriage Chuck Darrell said, "There's still counties left to report that bode well for us." The Amendment, as of now, has been declared a victory by the Vote No campaign.
