Doug Anderson Announces Candidacy for Lakeville City Council

Anderson, a senior business officer at Hamline University, pledges to support economic development, conservative financial planning, and encourage sustainable long range planning.

Long time Lakeville resident and senior business officer at Hamline University, Doug Anderson, has announced his campaign for a seat on the .

Anderson pledges to support economic development downtown and throughout the city, support conservative financial planning to ensure core services and city amenities can be sustained, and encourage sustainable long range planning as the city continues to grow and develop.

“Doug Anderson brings leadership ability, business experience, and passion for the community to his candidacy for Lakeville Council. He has a fresh perspective and a solid resume of business experience and community involvement," she said.

A graduate of University Minnesota Duluth with an MBA from Carlson School of Management Anderson has resided in Lakeville with his wife, Deb, and family for 29 years. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and has held senior leadership positions in a number of organizations currently finishing his tenth year as Chief Financial Officer of Hamline University in St. Paul, MN.

Anderson has been involved in the local and broader community; having served on non-profit boards, in church leadership roles, and on the City of Lakeville’s Financial Advisory committee. His board experience includes terms with the Friends of the Boundary Waters, Hosanna!, Lakeville Rotary, Lakeville Jaycees, Okoboji Bible Camp, and the Lake Marion Association. He has had the privilege
of serving as chair of the board in many of these organizations. 

“Lakeville has a strong reputation of being a great place to live and work. We must support our City with leadership that has the experience to work through issues and plan for the future. We need to ensure that services are continued and resources are efficiently and effectively used," Anderson says.
