The project is now scheduled to start Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m., with northbound traffic reduced to one lane that weekend, ending by Monday, Sept. 16 at 5 a.m.
The roadway affected is I-35 from County Road 50 to the I-35/35W/35E split.
A MnDOT spokesperson said there was simply a decision to put the project off by a week.
Lakeville motorists also have to deal with delays in two other areas where MnDOT has work scheduled, part of a project to repair concrete and make other improvements along I-35 and I-35E.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, the right lane of southbound I-35W and the left lane of I-35E between County Road 42 and Crystal Lake Road will close.
All lanes will re-open by noon, Saturday, Sept. 7.Also, in another part of the project that began Tuesday, both directions of I-35 between County Road 2 and County Road 70 will remain a single lane until mid-November.
