DELAYED: Northbound I-35 Road Work North out of Lakeville Will Start Sept. 13, Not Today

It's another reprieve for Lakeville motorists, but there are other potential hangups aplenty as MnDOT's concrete-repair project on area highways continues.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has delayed work on I-35 between Lakeville and Burnsville that was originally set to start Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at 10 a.m.

The project is now scheduled to start Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m., with northbound traffic reduced to one lane that weekend, ending by Monday, Sept. 16 at 5 a.m.

The roadway affected is I-35 from County Road 50 to the I-35/35W/35E split.

A MnDOT spokesperson said there was simply a decision to put the project off by a week.

Lakeville motorists also have to deal with delays in two other areas where MnDOT has work scheduled, part of a project to repair concrete and make other improvements along I-35 and I-35E.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, the right lane of southbound I-35W and the left lane of I-35E between County Road 42 and Crystal Lake Road will close.

All lanes will re-open by noon, Saturday, Sept. 7.

Also, in another part of the project that began Tuesday, both directions of I-35 between County Road 2 and County Road 70 will remain a single lane until mid-November.
