VIDEO: More Victims Surface in Lakeville Craigslist Swindle Case

A number of people have come forward, claiming they were scammed by Lakeville resident Monica Lillemoen.

A little over a month after Lakeville resident Monica Lillemoen was charged in a series of Craigslist swindles, the Lakeville Police Department has put out a video discussing Lillemoen's case and giving tips on avoiding rental scams.

Police say Lillemoen posed as the owner and landlord of her Lakeville rental in order to defraud people out of security deposits.

In the video, Lakeville Police Detective Brad Paulson said that the department has received a multiple phone callls from victims who hadn't realized they'd been scammed until they saw reports in the media.
