Two Lakeville Teens Injured in Crash After Fleeing From Police

Both men were seriously injured in the single-vehicle crash.

Two Lakeville teens were seriously injured Sunday night when the van they were in crashed on Kenwood Trail near the intersection of 188th St. W., following a police chase.

At around 10:30 p.m., Jacob Patton and John Donaldson, both 18-years-old, fled after an officer tried stopping them after receiving a report they were driving recklessly in a Lakeville neighborhood, according to a report from the Lakeville Police Department.

According to Lakeville Police, the responding officer saw the van and attempted to block the street with a squad car, but the van, which was being driven by Patton, drove onto a lawn and evaded the officer. Patton then led the officer on a brief, high speed chase, until Patton lost control, flipped the van and hit a tree.
