On Tuesday, June 11 at 7:08 p.m., the Lakeville Fire Department was dispatched to a possible house fire at 7910 166th Street West.  Lakeville Police on scene reported seeing smoke and fire coming from the garage of the residence and reported that all occupants were out of the home.

The first Fire Officer on scene also reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage and that it was spreading to the attic space of the home.  Station 2, 3, and 4 responded to the structure fire with approximately 30 firefighters.

Firefighters extinguished the fire but the home suffered heavy damage throughout the home.  Three firefighters were treated at the scene due to a ceiling collapse while trying to extinguish the fire in the attic.  Firefighters remained on scene until 11 p.m. to check for fire extension and ventilated the home due to high carbon monoxide readings.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
