South Metro Crime Roundup: Child Abuse Charges, Murder, Lawsuits

The following is a rundown of crime-related stories from our Dakota County sites this last week. 

All stories have been verified, and those accused are innocent until proven guilty.

Lakeville

Police discovered evidence of cocaine and heroin use after Kevin Leigh Polski, 25, allegedly helped himself to the makings of a sumptuous meal at Cub Foods.

A driver was told by police to get a ride home because he had been smoking marijuana. He thought to ask his grandmother, until he realized she had been smoking, too.

Farmington Man to Stand Trial for 2011 Stabbing at Lakeville Apartment
In April, Randall James Thole, 51, is scheduled to stand trial for a stabbing at a Lakeville apartment complex.

Apple Valley

Police: Apple Valley Man Strangled Pregnant Wife to Death, Staged Accident Scene
Roger Earl Holland is charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the death of his wife and unborn child, but Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom has vowed to bring the case before a grand jury.

Burnsville

Two Women Arrested for Trashing Car with Baseball Bat
Police say Teckla Christine Williams and Shanika Jeanine Mays' alleged attack on the Nissan Pathfinder was part of a larger campaign of harassment directed at the victim, who they perceived as a rival.

Burglars broke into one Burnsville woman's home over February and stole the pewter box containing her husband's ashes.

Lawsuit Against Disgraced Boy Scout Leader Settled
A settlement has been reached in one of two civil cases against former Burnsville scoutmaster Peter Stibal II, who is currently serving a 21 year sentence for child molestation.

Eagan

Eagan police say Ryan Andrew Gasior cried and vomited when confronted by investigators, who described the child's injuries.
