Shoes Talk: Report from Lakeville Interim Police Chief

Interim Police Chief John Kornmann writes in the Nov. 15 edition of "Breezes," the newsletter from the Lakeville Police Department.

The Lakeville Police Department responded to a call about a possible DUI during the early afternoon hours of Nov. 12.

In the latest "Breezes" newsletter, Interim Police Chief John Kornmann writes that police responding to the call found a woman passed out in the drivers seat of a vehicle. Her vehicle was stopped in the middle of a residential street.

Officers made multiple attempts to wake the woman up, and when she did, she told them that "'her shoes told her that the vehicle was running out of gas.'" The vehicle, however, was still running.

According to the newsletter report: "Her shoes exercised their right to remain silent during the arrest procedure."
