Lakeville Man's Sentencing Delayed For Fatal 2009 Christmas Crash

The sentencing of Jeffrey Arthur Martin, 39, has not yet been rescheduled.

Sentencing has been postponed for a 39-year-old  man convicted last October of DWI, endangerment of a child, criminal vehicular injury and criminal vehicular homicide.

The charges against Jeffrey Arthur Martin stem from a 2009 Christmas Eve crash which killed 88-year-old Everett Letterly of Prior Lake and injured his wife. 

, Martin’s blood-alcohol content taken at the scene was .17—more than twice the legal limit in Minnesota—and his three children, ages 10, 9 and 4, were in the car at the time of the crash.

The jury reportedly took three hours to convict Martin.

News of the postponement came from the Dakota County Attorney's office. No reason was given for the postponement of sentencing and no alternative date was provided.

The charges against Martin constitute two felonies and two gross misdemeanors.
