Lakeville Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Drunk Driving Death

Leah Marie Colwell, 44, denied criminal vehicular homicide charges, among others.

A 44-year-old Lakeville woman pleaded not guilty to criminal vehicular homicide, and other charges, last week in Dakota County District Court.

Leah Marie Colwell was arrested after she allegedly hit Jeffrey Trondson, 29, of Burnsville in June. 

The Pioneer Press reported that Colwell was making a left-hand turn onto northbound Harwell Avenue from eastbound 160th Street when she drove into the path of the Trondson, who was on a motorcycle.

According to KSTP, Colwell is scheduled to appear in court again Sept. 25 and will stand trial on Oct. 14.
