Should severe weather hit the area, the NWS advises residents to find space in a lower level of your home and away from windows.

According to the National Weather Service:

Low pressure will move from eastern South Dakota to northeast Minnesota today. As this area of low pressure moves northeast it will initially draw additional warmth and moisture northward ahead of it, then drag a cold front through the region during the afternoon and evening hours. Showers and a few embedded thunderstorms can be expected this morning, with stronger storms developing during the afternoon hours, particularly along and east of Interstate-35.
