Lakeville Police Talk Home Security in Latest Video

Lakeville Police Officer Kevin O'Neill spoke about home security in a video posted on the department’s YouTube page this month.

The garage is one area that can be overlooked when looking at ways to prevent burglary around the home, O'Neill says at the beginning of the video.

“Theft of items from a garage or from a car parked in your driveway are reports that are common at the Lakeville Police Department and it happens in neighborhoods all across the city,” O'Neill said.

He then gives tips for preventing such crimes, such as making a small change to the deadbolt lock of the door that leads from the garage to the inside of the house so that the door is harder to kick in.
