Lakeville Police Nab Burglar Following Tip

A resident reported seeing a man walking between houses and across driveways.

Lakeville police arrested a burglar after receiving a call from a concerned resident, Interim Police Chief John Kornmann wrote in the latest edition of Breezes, the department newsletter.

A resident saw a man walking in between homes and across driveways and notified police. When officers arrived they observed fresh footprints in the snow. The tracks led to cars and mailboxes. Two officers followed the tracks as other officers set up a perimeter, according to Kornmann.

Around six blocks later, they caught up to him and chased him on foot. They caught him on 172nd Street West. Police found a window punch, flashlight and large knife.

He admitted to stealing mail, entering cars and trying to enter homes. Police arrested him.
