UPDATE: Lakeville Man Dies from Injuries Suffered in Motorcycle Crash

Dustin J. Rahier was taking part in the Northfield Historical Society's Outlaw Run when the crash occurred.

UPDATE, 2:20 P.M.: A 38-year-old Lakeville man has died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash Saturday in New Trier.

A death notice for Dustin Rahier appeared Sunday on the White Funeral Home website. Here is that notice:

Dustin Jay Rahier, age 38 of Lakeville passed away on August 10, 2013 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Survived by parents Janice and Fred Rahier; fiancée Kate Rizo and her sons Brandon and Chase; siblings Kevin (Carrie), Lisa (Daryl) Vis, Shellie (Frank) Hicks, Shelia (Rick) Roberson, Fred (Annie) and Wenda (Tim) Culpepper; Also by many loving relatives and friends. Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, 7 pm, August 14, 2013 at White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail. Gathering of family and friends starting at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

The Northfield News says Rahier was taking part in the Northfield Historical Society's Outlaw Run on Saturday. Two emergency medical technicians assisting with the event treated Rahier until emergency responders arrived on the scene. Rahier then was airlifted from the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 38-year-old Lakeville man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway 50 and Holt Avenue in New Trier on Saturday, says the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to a state patrol incident report, Dustin J. Rahier was popping wheelies on his motorcycle while heading eastbound on Highway 50 at about 11:55 a.m. Saturday. When traffic in front of him slowed, he braked hard on his motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to roll.

The incident report says Rahier suffered serious injuries.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the state patrol in its investigation.
