On Feb. 9, at 1:20 p.m. Lakeville police responded to an apartment on the 20000 block of Hollins Avenue on a report of an assault. Officers found the victim outside, crying and visibly shaken. The woman told police that she and Arisi have a seven-month-old child. As she was getting ready for work, she picked up the infant and took the child into the bedroom where Arisi was watching TV. She walked to the left side of the bed and attempted to hand the child to Arisi, but he rolled to the other side. Again she tried to hand him the child. This time he allegedly kicked her on her left hip and kept going.

Arisi then got out of the bed and began to grab and push her in addition to the kicking, at which point she tried to defend herself. The woman said he called her a prostitute because she works with other men on the job. He ripped the shirt she was wearing, which she later showed to officers, and struck her several times about the head, neck, shoulders and cheek. The woman told police that he hit her with both open and closed fists.

Then he grabbed an iron and began striking the woman on the lower side of her back. He continued to strike her with the iron, then threw her on the ground and pinned her to the floor by sitting on her chest. The woman said he choked her with both hands for at least five seconds.
