UPDATE: Monday's House Fire Started in Laundry Room

The fire that severely damaged a Huntington Path home Monday night started in the laundry room, according to a press release from Lakeville Fire Chief Mike Meyer.
Here is the text of the press release:
On Monday, June 10 at 7:32 p.m., the Lakeville Fire Department was dispatched to a possible house fire at 16798 Huntington Path. Lakeville Police on scene reported seeing smoke from the residence and reported that no occupants were home at the time.
The first Fire Officer on scene also reported smoke coming from the upper level windows of the residence. Station 1, 2, 3, and 4 responded to the structure fire.

Firefighters contained the fire to the laundry room but there was excessive heat and smoke damage throughout the home. Firefighters remained on scene until 11 p.m. to check for any fire extension and ventilated the home due to high carbon monoxide readings.

At least seven fire engines and ladder trucks, in addition to Lakeville Police and ALF Ambulance, responded to the blaze, which was reported at about 7:30 p.m.
Firefighters remained on the scene for more than three hours hours.
