Eagan Man Charged with Sex Crime Involving 14-Year-Old Lakeville Girl
Derik Chester Rekdal faces a felony count of criminal sexual conduct.
An Eagan man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct after authorities say he carried on a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl in Lakeville.
Derik Chester Rekdal, 20, faces a felony charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He remains in the Dakota County Jail in Hastings on a $40,000 bond.
According to the complaint, a 14-year-old girl reported to police in April that she and Rekdal had sex in Lakeville three or four times during the summer, fall and winter of 2010.

Police subsequently interviewed Rekdal, who admitted that the two had sex about six times, and that he knew she was younger than 16.
An arrest warrant was issued for Rekdal on Tuesday. He was arrested Tuesday evening in Lakeville.

An omnibus hearing in Rekdal’s case is scheduled for Sept. 26 in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.
