When you are violating the law, it is a good idea to be aware of who is around you, or you are likely to be caught. Officer Troy Hokanson was on patrol recently when he stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on Cedar Avenue.
The driver showed signs of intoxication and Officer Hokanson administered field sobriety tests to the driver. The driver failed the tests and Officer Hokanson arrested the driver for DUI and towed and impounded the vehicle.
Subsequent breath test indicated that the driver was over the legal limit. Officer Hokanson’s attention was initially drawn to the vehicle by the high rate of speed that it was traveling. Officer Hokanson’s squad radar recorded the vehicle traveling 94 MPH, as he passed Officer Hokanson’s unmarked squad car.
