Dumb Criminal: Assault Suspect Leaves Name at the Scene

Officer Rick Bussler and Sgt. Andy Bohlen responded to a report of an assault in the parking lot of a restaurant this past week. When the officers arrived they found that one man had been punched several times by another man as he was leaving the establishment.

The suspect had fled the scene before the officers’ arrival, obviously hoping to get away with the assault by concealing his identity. Unfortunately for the suspect, before leaving the restaurant, he had paid his bill with a credit card, thereby signing his full name. The detectives following up on the case had no difficulty determining the suspect’s identity.
