Demos, "Live Fire," Free Root Beer at Lakeville Fire Department Open House

Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 6-12.

The Lakeville Fire Department is hosting its annual open house during Fire Prevention Week.

There will be demonstrations of a car fire, car extrication and a fire sprinkler demonstration that will include a "live fire." Youth will enjoy meeting Sparky and spraying water from a hose with a firefighter.

Girl Scouts will sell hot dogs and chips while root beer will be available for free.

The open house is set for Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is located at Fire Station 4, at 185th Street and Dodd Boulevard.
