Cart Full, Lakeville Woman Allegedly Exits Target Without Paying

Lynn Marie Revier was arrested and charged with theft after pushing a cart full of merchandise out of Target without paying.

A Lakeville woman accused of filling her shopping cart with merchandise while visiting , and then walking out of the store without paying for the cart-load of goods, has been charged by the Dakota County Attorney's Office with felony theft.

According to the criminal complaint, Lynn Marie Revier, 52, is accused of trying to steal $235.06 worth of merchandise during the Dec. 20 incident, and according to authorities, it's not the first time she tried.

The criminal complaint alleges that Revier has "stolen from the same store several times previously by pushing her cart past the point of sale without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise." The complaint says the store's loss prevention has Revier on surveillance video stealing from the store on multiple occasions. Police estimate the value of items stolen between Nov. 13 and Dec. 20 is in excess of $1,000.

In this case, when Lakeville Police officers arrived, the store's loss prevention had already stopped Revier, who quickly admitted to the theft to police, telling them she had done it because she couldn't afford to pay.

According to the complaint, Revier said "she is on disability, has an EBT card, and doesn’t have money for purchases." Revier also told police she is on several medications and that causes her to not be able to recall things, the compliant said.
