Letter to the Editor: Doug Anderson for Lakeville City Council

Letter writer: "His resume is first rate; in addition to his professional training as a CPA and MBA, Doug's experience as CFO at Hamline University is directly transferable to a Council position."

To the editor,

As a 22 year resident of Lakeville, I have learned that my fellow citizens care deeply about the quality of life they enjoy here.  On Nov. 6, Lakeville residents have a perfect opportunity to further ensure that quality by electing Doug Anderson to City Council.

I have known Doug for most of those 22 years and can say with utmost confidence that he is extremely qualified to serve on Lakeville’s City Council.  His resume is first rate; in addition to his professional training as a CPA and MBA, Doug’s experience as CFO at Hamline University is directly transferable to a Council position. He knows how to manage complex and difficult financial and personnel issues, he is accustomed to dealing with diverse ideas and opinions, and he is committed to fiscal responsibility.

Perhaps even more important for us, though, Doug is a man of deep conviction who is deeply rooted in Lakeville. Doug’s wife Deb is a lifelong resident and together they raised their family in Lakeville, along the way enriching us all with their contributions to our civic and faith communities. His motivation to run for Council is as pure as it gets—he simply wants to “pay it forward” to current and future Lakeville residents.

Please vote for Doug Anderson for Lakeville City Council!
