Allstate Agent Rick Allen Recognized for Outstanding Volunteerism

SAINT PAUL, MN., March 17, 2014 – Allstate agency owner Rick Allen received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to helping others. With this award came a $1000 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the University Of St Thomas in St. Paul, where Allen volunteers. Founded in 1885, the University of St. Thomas is a private, Catholic, liberal arts university based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. St. Thomas is one of the largest and oldest Catholic colleges or universities in the United States. Allen directed the grant money to the “Enactus” Program at the university.

 

Allstate agents and employees have a proud history of putting their good hands to work in supporting Minnesota communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others.

“The Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service. Commitment to our communities is a natural extension of what we do every day – protecting people and making their lives more secure,” said Shaundra Turner, director of The Allstate Foundation in Minnesota. “With support from The Allstate Foundation, Rick Allen and the University of St. Thomas  is making our hometown a better, safer place to live.”

The Allstate Foundation awards more than $1 million every year to nonprofit organizations across the country in honor of dedicated Allstate agency owners who give back. To be eligible for nomination, Allstate agency owners must with volunteer, mentor or lead a nonprofit of their choice.
