Former Prior Lake American Editor Dies at Age 86

Beverly Helen (Wayne) Simonson, of Lakeville, died on Jan. 12 at the age of 86. 

Simonson, formerly of Prior Lake and Richfield, was a "dedicated wife, devoted mother, and loving grandmother and great-mother," according to her obituary on White Funeral Homes. She "loved the written word" and served for a time as editor of the Prior Lake American and the Prior Lake Clipper and as a member of the Minnesota Women's Press Association. 

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the White Funeral Home, located at 12804 Nicollet Avenue South in Burnsville. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Internment is at Geneva Cemetery in Geneva, Minn.

The family prefers memorials to the Carver-Scott Humane Society.
