DEATH NOTICE: James George Gruntner, 83

James G. Gruntner, age 83, of Lakeville, passed away on July 21, 2013.

James G. Gruntner, age 83, of Lakeville, passed away on July 21, 2013. Born to Mathew and Julia Gruntner on August 2, 1929 on the East Side of St. Paul. Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Married Margarita Guardini on 8-29-1953, at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament 33 years of service to The Catholic Cemeteries of The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Survived by sons Ronald of Lakeville, Anthony (Elaine) of Lakeville, and daughters Marie (Al) Jabs of Brainerd, Lori (Craig) Anderson of Lakeville and Julie (Michael) Walton of Farmington, brother Donald and wife Bernice of Rosemount and sister-in-law Emily Harrison of White Bear Lake, grandchildren Chris, Cassie, Brandon, Brianna, Mikayla, Ellie, Jake, and Amanda and great-grandchildren Naomi, Jayden and Ava; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by wife of 45 years Margarita, brothers Ronald, Robert and Mathew and sister Virginia Klein. Mass of Christian Burial to be held 11 AM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at All Saints Catholic Church 19795 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville, MN., with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, located at 753 Front Ave., St. Paul, MN. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home, St. Paul, Minnesota. Many special thanks to caregivers at Our Lady of Peace, home health aide Becky and long-time physician Dr. Dennis Cross.
