Why the Polar Bear?

Why does Lakeville Friends of the Environment use a polar bear as our logo. It's kind of a good story and seminal to our beginnings. Back in 2006 Will Steger spoke to Prince Of Peace congregation. Harley Horsager was in the audience and was overcome by the plight of the polar bear and it's shrinking habitat.. In January 2007 Lakeville Friends began meeting at Heritage Library. We have grown many times, had members come and go, but we have always attracted friends who had a deep desire to make our world a better place. Recently the IPCC reports on climate change have been released. One prominent climatologist stated, the polar bear is us.
