Senate District 58 Republican Party Caucus

Dear Republican Friends,

Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of Senate District 58 of the Republican Party, the caucus for all Precincts in Senate District 58A will convene on Tuesday February 4, 2014 at 7:00 pm at:
Lakeville North High School
19600 Ipava Ave
Lakeville, MN 55044

The Caucus shall be held for the purpose of:
1.  Election of precinct officers
2. Election of Delegates and Alternates to the Senate District 58 convention
3. Endorsement of Candidates for Legislative offices
4. Discussion of Issues and Resolutions
5. Governor’s Straw poll
6. U.S. Senate Straw poll

The statutory rules governing the caucus are as follows:
1.  Must keep precinct caucus open for at least 1 hour
2. Nominations for election of permanent officers of precinct and delegates shall remain open for at least 15 minutes.  They can remain open longer.
3. Election of delegates and Alternates may begin 30 minutes after convening the caucus, but must begin within one hour of convening ta caucus.  There is no set time to finish.
4. All voting shall be by secret ballot.  Minnesota law requires a secret ballot.
