Wind Advisory and Hazardous Outlook Posted for Dakota County

Winds are 25-30 mph with gusts up to 45-50 mph until 7 p.m.

The National Weather Service has posted a Wind Advisory through 7 p.m. tonight for , Dakota County and much of the surrounding area.

Winds are currently blowing from 25-30 mph with gusts up around 40 mph. Use caution while driving as the winds could make driving difficult. High profile vehicles may especially have trouble driving on east/west roads. Be alert for small items blowing around, the Weather Service said.

A wind advisory means winds of 35 mph are expected.

The high on Friday is 87 degrees. Strong south winds are forecast again for Friday afternoon across south central Minnesota and thunderstorm chances will increase across the area Saturday through Sunday as a cold front moves in. At this time, the threat for severe weather with these storms is low.
