Patch Picks: Mother's Day Ideas

Moms are special everyday of our lives, but this Sunday is the annual day where Moms are recognized with their own special day. Whether you choose to celebrate Mother’s Day near or far, here are a few suggestions to help you share the love.

Mother’s Day Brunch – Treat Mom to a fine meal and leave the clean-up to someone else. , Green Mill and the Chart House all have Mother’s Day Brunches planned as do many other area restaurants. Gathering around the table is a family tradition and a Mother’s Day Brunch will let Mom relax and enjoy. The Osceola and St. Croix Valley Railway and Padelford Riverboats also feature Mother’s Day brunches if you want to combine a unique adventure with your meal.

Day at the Spa – Let Mom get away with a day at the spa. Tigli Tan & Skin Spa, Belle Ami, Body & Sol, Infinity and Studio Bodair are all Lakeville favorites. Let Mom take a break and get pampered by a variety of treatments that will make her feel special.

Race for the Cure – The 17th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure has become a Mother’s Day tradition at the Mall of America and attracts approximately 50,000 pink-clad walkers and runners to help fight breast cancer. Take Mom for a walk and help out a great cause.

Floral – If you can’t be near, let one of Lakeville’s floral shops like Lakeville Floral and Flora Etc. help send your sentiments to Mom. Floral bouquets, gifts and more are available and can be sent anywhere with your customized message to let Mom know you’re thinking of her.

St. Paul Civic Symphony Mother’s Day Concert – Enjoy a free concert celebrating nature and rebirth at St. Paul’s Landmark Center. The concert is a popular tradition and there is also free admission for Moms at the nearby Children’s Museum to help make a day of it.
