Lakeville Woman Places in Top Ten in Miss Minnesota Pageant

Elizabeth Scipioni and Erin Alyssa Cochran of Lakeville compete in the 2011 Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program, with Scipioni advancing to the top 10

Elizabeth Scipioni and Erin Alyssa Cochran of Lakeville competed Saturday evening in the 2011 Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program in the Eden Prairie Performing Arts Center, with Scipioni placing in the top 10 finalists.

Miss Mankato, Natalie Davis, won the crown and will represent Minnesota in the Miss America pageant.

By advancing to the top 10, Scipioni competed in the final swimsuit, evening gown and talent competitions. She performed a dramatic monologue "Alice in Wonderland" as her talent. Her platform was "Speak Up and Out! Volunteerism in the Special Needs Community.

A senior elementary education major at Gustavus Adolphus College, Scipioni, 21, is the daughter of Tom and Sandy Scipioni of Lakeville.

Cochran, 19, is the daughter of James and Jean Cochran of Lakeville. She's a sophomore at Winona State University with a major in mass communications. Her platform was: Reach Your LEVEL Best! Diabetes Awareness and Education.

Lauren Johnson (Miss Twin Cities), 1st Runner-Up
Samantha Phillippi (Miss West Metro), 2nd Runner-Up
Megan Ehlert (Miss Coon Rapids), 3rd Runner-Up

Aja Majkrzak (Miss Capital City), 4th Runner-Up
