Lakeville Students Take Part in National Forensic Tournament

Editor's Note: The following press release is from Lakeville Area Public Schools.

A few Lakeville Area Public School students had a great showing at the annual National Catholic Forensics League (NCFL) Tournament held in Philadelphia May 25-26.

The 2013 NCFL Grand National Tournament features the top high school students from around the country competing in drama, speech and debate events.  Below is a brief recap of our results and a few pictures of the group!

There were about 3,000 students competing from all over the nation at this tournament - over 500 schools had students competing.  Most of the different categories had well over 200 competitors, so we were really proud of all of our students out here!    Individuals who broke into the out-rounds from our team included:

  • Will Preachuk getting to Octafinals (top 48) in Dramatic Performance,
  • Sean Mullin getting to Quarterfinals (top 24) in Declamation,
  • Katie Makowski placing 4th in the final round of Dramatic Performance!
The group also included Anna Hermanson, who competed in Dramatic Performance, and Mandi Dickie and Zach Hastad who competed in Duo.
