Lakeville Man Charged with Having Loaded Pistol, Marijuana in His Vehicle

A Lakeville man arrested for allegedly having a loaded automatic pistol and suspected marijuana in his vehicle in an Eagan parking lot last week remained in the Dakota County Jail Tuesday evening.
Harold Glenn Linville Jr., 28, is being held on $150,000 bail without conditions—or $100,000 bail with conditions—following the May 31 incident, says the jail website.
He has been charged with three felony counts—possession of an pistol/assault weapon with a previous felony conviction, receiving stolen property and fifth-degree possession of drugs—as well as gross misdemeanor carrying/possessing a pistol without a permit and misdemeanor possession of more than 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
According to a Dakota County criminal complaint released Tuesday:
Eagan police were called to a Taco Bell restaurant on the morning of May 31. An employee told police he reportedly could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from one of two vehicle parked in the parking lot before the restaurant opened. The employee alleged that three men were smoking marijuana in the vehicle.
Officers arrived and made contact with Linville, who was the only man left sitting in the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly discovered a loaded automatic pistol in the center console and a prescription pill bottle containing suspected marijuana.
Authorities later learned the pistol had been stolen from Massachusetts.
The complaint says Linville has a number of prior convictions for fifth-degree controlled substance crimes, a conviction for possession of a pistol or assault weapon by an ineligible person and second-degree assault.
Linville made his first appearance in Dakota County District Court on Monday, the jail website says.
In addition to charges related to the Eagan incident, Linville also is being held for Bloomington Police on $125,000 bail for possession of a pistol or assault weapon with a previous felony conviction.
