Support our Community

On November 5th, voters in the Lakeville Area School District will have the opportunity to invest in the future of our community. We have a rich history of great schools. Our two children, 4th generation Lakeville students, received terrific educations in the 90s. Since then, there have been several failed levy votes.

In the past 7 years, over $30 million of budget reductions have occurred. We have lost 20% of the teaching staff resulting in some of the highest class sizes in the metro area. We have eliminated elementary art & band, early bird classes, and some foreign language classes. What saddens us the most is the loss of middle school teaming, a proven advantage to middle level education. Increased co-curricular fees and bussing distances have caused hardships for families.

Passage of the levy would mean a net additional $14 per month for the average Lakeville home. We have not increased our levy for ten years.

Our district has the lowest general fund revenue in the top 20 Metro districts, including Rosemount-Apple Valley, Burnsville and Bloomington. We owe it to our students to support their educations, as others did for us.

Please join us by voting Yes on November 5th.
