Midwest Asphalt Will Not Extend Hours at Lakeville Site

The company has decided to back off its request to operate for 24 hours, but could submit a new request at another time.

Midwest Asphalt Corp. will not seek to extend its operation hours to 24 hours a day at this time.

According to the Star Tribune:

"Midwest President Blair Bury notified the city that the company was withdrawing its application 'to do further study of the issues in order to determine appropriate solutions... I look forward to being able to resolve the concerns and returning to ‘the process’ at a later date.'"

Currently Midwest Asphalt is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The company had submitted a request to the city for the extension of operating hours, but delayed the permit request to meet with Lake Marion neighbors.

Residents in the area said that the noise, dust and other issues would "worsen their living conditions," according to the Star Tribune
