Lakeville Area Chamber Events for Upcoming Week

Food drive coming to a close. Still time to make your donations at area chamber businesses.

The Lakeville Chamber of Commerce has a number of events planned for the coming week.

The chamber will host a Breakfast with the City Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Perkins Family Restaurant in Lakeville. That event is scheduled for 7:30 a.m.

Also on Aug. 9, an Ambassador Picnic will be held at Casperson Park. That event is scheduled from 3-5 p.m.

The Farmer’s Market continues its run on Wednesdays and Saturdays downtown. Fresh produce and goods are available from a variety of local vendors each week. The market is staged in Market Plaza from Noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and in the Arts Center parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The food drive to benefit local food shelves ends on Monday, Aug. 15. Residents still have time to make donations at a wide variety of local businesses. The event has been sponsored by Charter Business, Anchor Bank, Malt-O-Meal, C.G.T. Ltd., Country Cabinets, Railworks Track Systems, Cedar View Electric, and Ensemble Creative & Marketing. Dick’s Lakeville Sanitation, Brunswick Zone XL and Print Solutions also partnered with the chamber for the drive. Collections benefit 360 Communities and the Lakeville Resource Center.

The South of the River Chambers of Commerce Breakfast with Congressman John Kline originally scheduled for July has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 24 at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club. A breakfast will be served at 7:00 a.m. followed by a program from 7:30-9 a.m. Cost to attend the event is $15.00 for chamber members and $20.00 for non-members. You can register online at the chamber website. There is no need to re-register if you were already signed up for the postponed July event.
