Despite Tree Chopping, No Development For Corner of Cedar and Dodd

But a new McDonalds could soon be found on the southeast corner of Cedar Avenue and Dodd Boulevard, where Dino's Gyros is located.

The corner of Cedar Avenue and Dodd Boulevard looks a lot different.

But despite the mass tree clearing project to the property on the northeast corner of the busy intersection, there isn't a new development in the works.

City Administrator Steve Mielke said the property owner cleared the trees and brush in order to farm on the land this summer.

The same can't be said for the southwest corner of the intersection, adjacent to the Cub Foods anchored mall, and across from the .

Frank Dempsey, an associate planner with the city of Lakeville, said McDonalds is looking to raze the building that currently houses Dino's Gyros. McDonalds would then build a new restaurant on the site—located at 17701 Cedar Ave.

Lakeville's Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed development at 6 p.m. during its Thursday, April 5 meeting at City Hall.
