Wind Advisory in Effect for Much of Tuesday in Lakeville, Twin Cities

The National Weather Service recommends securing outdoor furniture.

A wind advisory has been posted for and the Twin Cities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. 

Strong wind will come with a cold front sweeping into the area Tuesday morning. Southwest winds could blow from 30-40 miles per hour, with gusts to 50 mph.

Objects left outside, such as trash cans and lawn furniture, could be blown around.

Be cautious, as driving could be hazardous, the National Weather Service advises.

Wind advisories are posted when winds of 35 mph or more are expected.

There's also a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m., after which it should be partly sunny and warmer, with a high near 68 degrees.
