Santa Claus, Coca-Cola and Swedish Design

Created by illustrator Haddon Sundblom nearly 80 years ago for the company's 1931 Christmas advertising campaign, Coca-Cola's impressionable, rosy-cheeked Santa Claus has appeared on billboards and in ads throughout the decades.

The American Swedish Institute presents "Santa Claus, Coca-Cola, and Swedish Design," an exhibit featuring more than a dozen of Haddon Sundblom's original Santa Claus oil paintings on loan from the Coca-Cola archives in Atlanta, Ga. Additionally, the exhibit also presents an overview of Sundblom's upbringing and features a collection of 100 items from Minnesota Coca-Cola collectors that demonstrate the extent of Haddon Sundblom's work.
