'Children's Letters to God' Opening at Lakeville Area Arts Center

The musical is inspired by a book of the same name and asks questions such as, "Dear God, Are you really invisible or is that just a trick?"

The Homeward Bound Theatre Company will present the regional off-Broadway premier of Children's Letters to God at the Lakeville Area Arts Center in November.

According to a news release from the Lakeville Area Arts Center:

The musical follows the lives of five young friends as they voice beliefs, desires, questions and doubts common to all people, but most disarmingly expressed by children. Sixteen tuneful songs and assorted scenes (some based on actual letters) explore timeless issues such as sibling rivalry, divorce, holidays, the loss of a beloved pet and first love.

“It is a unique opportunity to bring live, family-friendly entertainment to the Twin Cities area,” says artistic director Bruce Kirkpatrick in the release.

Show times are Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Purchase tickets online or at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, located at 20965 Holyoke Avenue.
