Viewfinder: Construction on Cedar Avenue Starts in Lakeville and Apple Valley
Two year plan began April 4 to accommodate wider lanes for bus rapid transit.
Construction on Cedar Avenue to implement a bus rapid transit system began Monday with lane closures on the southbound side between Dodd Boulevard in Lakeville and 155th Street West in Apple Valley.
This week, crews continued utility work, restriped the southbound lanes along that stretch of Cedar, erected concrete barriers and started taking out curbs. The project as a whole involves creating shoulders specifically for buses and widening Cedar Avenue.
