Spring Fever Can Cause New Bicycle Fever

Lakeville's EDiscount Bikes offers tips on what to consider when buying a new bike.

With everyone assuming that Spring will eventually get here, cabin-fever sufferers are starting to think about outdoor activities again. The Twin Cities area is one of the most bicycle friendly in the United States and have abundant trails to prove it.  Bicycling is growing in popularity because of its fitness aspects, not to mention the eco-friendly form of transportation it promotes.  But for some folks in the market for a new bike, shopping for one can raise questions and cause confusion.

"What's your main purpose for the bike? Is it going to be a fitness-related ride? Do you want to ride long distances? Are you going to primarily ride off-road or on-road? Or is there going to be a little mix of both?"

"These are the questions we ask shoppers who wonder what type of bicycle will meet their needs," says Jack P. Smith of Lakeville-based EDiscount Bikes.
