Snow Forecast: 3-5 Inches For Lakeville—Share Your Snow Photos

The National Weather Service forecast says 3-5 inches of snow could fall in Lakeville over the weekend, with deeper totals the further north you travel.

Winter is coming. Lakeville, and most of the Twin Cities for that matter, is expected to get dumped on with nearly half a foot of snow by Sunday night.

As a result, the National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a winter storm watch and warning for parts of the metro area, whaich are both in effect from Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon.

Lakeville is expected to see 3-5 inches of snow while parts north of Dakota County are forecast to receive 6-8 inches.

Windy conditions may lead to blowing and drifting snow and "near-blizzard" conditions in open areas, according to the NWS.

The snow expected this weekend will be followed by cold air system, according to the weather service. Wind chills of 15 to 20 degrees below zero are likely across much of central and western Minnesota Sunday night and Monday.
