UPDATE: Missing Lakeville Dog Found, Returned to Owners

Themla, a white Pyrenees, bolted from the parking lot of Southfork Animal Hospital on Feb. 13 and was found in Cannon Falls.

Thelma is a survivor.

That's really the only way to describe the missing Lakeville dog that was successfully rescued yesterday some 33 miles from where she bolted from her owners more than a month ago.

Covered in burrs and weighing 25 lighter than she did, Thelma was spotted by a man in Cannon Falls who patiently luered her into a kennel, according to Debra Fisher Goldstein, who has been helping the dog's family.

Once Thelma was secure, he called the number on the tag that was still around her neck.

Fisher Goldstein said Thelma, and the family, fell asleep as soon as they got home.

UPDATE from March 13 at 11:35 a.m.

The hunt continues for a missing Lakeville dog, despite reward fliers that went up around town being vandalized.

Volunteers spent much of last week posting reward fliers around the neighborhoods where Thelma, a snow-white Pyrenees, has been seen since bolting from her owners on Feb. 13 in the  parking lot.

But on Saturday, those same volunteers discovered many of the fliers had been vandalized—the owner's phone number scratched out with a black pen.

Animal control is pretty certain Themla, who is gentle and terribly shy, is still on the run. She was last seen near late last week and has been previously spotted near Life Time Fitness. She's white, but after nearly a month living in the woods and on the run, is likely pretty dirty. Thelma is chipped, has her ID tags still on, as well as her leash.

According to the dog's family and animal control, accurate and updated sightings are needed in order to use a "humane trap" to successfully rescue the dog.

Thelma is a rescue dog and was never socialized by her previous owners, and while she's gentle, she's also timid of people. Calling for her will likely result in her running, the owners say. Instead, if you see Thelma, you're to call animal control or her owners at (952) 356-2382.

UPDATE from March 5 at 10 a.m.

Four weeks after bolting from her foster mom's arms, the search continues in Lakeville for a missing dog.

Thelma is a snow-white Pyrenees, though her color may be a bit dirty after four weeks running around Lakeville. Her collar and a leash are likely still attached, and she's been spotted, as recently as last week, in neighborhoods across Lakeville.

She originally bolted from her family at  on Monday, Feb. 13. Since then, she's been spotted in neighborhoods near Mills Fleet Farm, and as far away as Life Time Fitness.

According to the dog's family, Thelma does not come when called and is very shy and timid. Calling for her will likely result in her running, the owners say. Instead, if you see Thelma, you're to call animal control or her owners at (952) 356-2382.

ORIGINAL STORY from Feb. 16 at 12:17 p.m.

The search is on in Lakeville for a missing, snow-white, Pyrenees named Thelma.

According to the dog's owners, she bolted from the parking lot of Southfork Animal Hospital on Monday, Feb. 13. She was last seen running into the neighborhood east of Interstate 35 and north of Kenwood Trail. She's been seen several times in the neighborhood.

Charyl Roth, the dog's owner, described the dog as all-white with a black nose, approximately 85 pounds, with lots of hair. Themla has a good temperament, but she may be scared. She should still have on her collar and tags. The dog still has her leash on as well.
