Mentor James, Who Loves Cars and Trains

Each week we profile an area youth looking for adult mentors through the Kids 'n Kinship program. This week we introduce you to James.

First name: James      

Age: 5

Interests: James enjoys coloring and Thomas the Tank engine. James has had swim lessons and likes to swim, ride bikes and play with toy trucks and cars.  He also likes playing Angry Birds on his computer.

Personality/Characteristics: James is active and changes his mind quickly, likes to move from activity to activity. He lives with his grandmother.

Goals/Dreams: James would like to visit parks with a mentor and particularly likes swinging.

Looking For: A positive male role model or couple to look up to and have fun with.

For More Information: James is one of almost 50 children waiting for a mentor through , a private nonprofit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Friday May 4 at the Wescott Library in Eagan. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
