Lakeville's Autumn Anderson a Finalist for Miss Minnesota Pageant

The National American Miss Minnesota Pageant will be held July 27-28 in Bloomington.

The Lakeville girl has been named a finalist for the National American Miss Minnesota Pageant.

Autumn Anderson, 13, will be participating in the Pre-Teen division, along with other girls from across the great state of Minnesota. All told, there are five different age divisions in the pageant for girls aged 4-18.

According to a news release, Anderson is active in volleyball, dance, and community service. She's an honor roll student, and has also been honored in her school with leadership, respect, and citizenship awards. In addition to traditional classical studies, she has studied Spanish, Latin, and violin through Paideia Academy and MacPhail Center for Music.

According to the press release announcing Anderson's participation:

The National American Miss Minnesota Pageant to be held July 27-28 in Bloomington, MN. The winner of the pageant will receive a $1000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of flowers and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California where she will receive and exciting complimentary tour of Hollywood and two VIP tickets to Disneyland.

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America's future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills. Each year the pageant nationally awards 1.5 million dollars in cash, scholarships and other prizes which includes a New Ford Mustang Convertible.

 The National American Miss Pageants are unlike any other. All activities and competitions are kept age appropriate. The Pageant program is based on inner-beauty as well as poise and presentation, and offers an "All-American spirit of fun for family and friends." Emphasis is put on the importance of developing self-confidence, learning good sportsmanship, as well as setting and achieving personal goals. The Pageant recognizes the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for her future.
