I-35 in Lakeville: How Do You Avoid the Heavy Traffic?

Traffic on I-35 in Lakeville was "bumper to bumper" early Monday morning.

Early morning commuters traveling through Lakeville on Interstate 35 encountered heavy traffic on Monday.

Tim Harlow at the Star Tribune, tweeted a photo showing "bumper to bumper" northbound traffic at 6:10 a.m.

Due to the Interstate 35 construction project, traffic between County Road 2 and County Road 50 are one lane in each direction. There are nightly closures on Interstate 35 between the I-35/35W/35E split and County Road 50.

Ramp closures include: 85th/County Road 60 to northbound Interstate 35 and the northbound Interstate 35 ramp to County Road 50.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds drivers to zipper merge during backups.
