Lakeville drivers have been preparing for some long-term traffic delays which were set to begin tomorrow.
The merging of traffic down to one lane between County Road 50 and Country Road 2 stems from a Minnesota Department of Transportation project, which aims to repair “shoulders, ramps and bridges along I-35 and I-35E between Elko and Eagan.”
The good news? The $20 million project won’t start until Sept. 3. According to the City of Lakeville's Facebook page:
“We have gotten confirmation from MnDot that they have changed the start date on the I-35 south to Elko New Market traffic shift to Sept. 3, not tomorrow. No reason was given.”Tuesday.
In addition to lane closures, according to MnDot, Sept. 3 will also mean the below ramp closures:
185th St/County Road 60 to northbound I-35 closed. Suggested alternate: County Road 50 ramp to access northbound I-35.
Northbound I-35 ramp to County Road 50 closed. Suggested alternate for ramp closure: 185th St/County Road 60.
