Broken Pole Leads to Power Outage in Lakeville, Southern Burnsville

The power outage for 1,730 Dakota Electric customers occurred early Monday morning.

A broken pole at 165th Street West and Kenrick Avenue in Lakeville led to a power outage for Dakota Electric Assocation customers in Lakeville and southern Burnsville.

The outage began at 3:22 a.m. and affected 1,730 customers according to Dakota Electric spokesman Joe Miller.

By 4:30 a.m. more than 1,100 customers had their power restored, and all except a few customers near the broken pole had power restored by 5 a.m.

Dakota Electric made several updates about the outage on its social media accounts, including the tweets above.
